The Play Of The Day

Good Morning Stock Fans!

Today's Play of The Day is: Andrew Corp. (NasdaqNM:ANDW)

Andrew Corporation (NASDAQ:ANDW) is a supplier of communications products and systems to worldwide commercial, industrial, and governmental customers. Its principal products include coaxial cables, microwave antennas for point-to-point communication systems, special purpose antennas for commercial and government end use, antennas and complete earth stations for satellite communication systems, cellular antenna products, cellular telephone accessories, electronic radar systems, communication reconnaissance systems, and related ancillary items and services. These products are frequently sold as integrated systems rather than as separate components. Approximately one half of Andrew's products are sold directly to end users. Most of the remainder is sold to radio equipment companies.

This one is in a HOT sector and the only thing that held it back yesterday was major tankage by the DOW. We expect ANDW to breakout and the breakout could be BIG. Options are a great way to play this one too.

Buy Area: $29 1/2 - 31.00
Sell Stop: $27.75
2DAY TARGET: $33.00
7DAY TARGET: $40.00

"RUN THE OPTIONS!": ANDW
The option that go with this play are the April 30 call AQN DF last ask: $4 70

BONUS PLAY #1: DSL.net, Inc (NASDAQNM: DSLN)
DSL.net's name is its business. Using digital subscriber line (DSL) technology, the company provides high-speed, dedicated Internet access to small and midsize businesses. Services assume the brand name NetGAIN and, along with Internet access, include e-mail, Internet protocol (IP) addressing, Web site hosting, and virtual private and local area networks. DSL.net also offers three Internet access speeds, ranging from 384 kilobytes to 1.2 megabytes per second. Targeting smaller cities with populations of less than one million, DSL.net serves more than 20 northeastern US cities and expects to establish points of presence (POPs) in 60 cities before 2000. VantagePoint Venture Partners owns about 37% of the firm.

DSL.net Expands National Coverage Via Agreement with Covad

Stock Fans, this chart pattern looks the same as it did back on 12/28/99 before it made 14 point run. The stock is being accumulated as we know, that if institutions don't want it, then neither do we! MACD and Stochastics have bottomed and look to turn up confirming this entry for a swing.

KEY INDICATORS: DSLN
Buy Area:$27.50 to $28.00
Sell Stop:$26.6
TARGET: $30.80 to $32.20
Time Frame: 3-5 days
Type of Trade: Swing Trade

BONUS PLAY #2: Range Resources Corp. (AMEX: RRC)
Range Resources, formerly Lomak Petroleum, is riding the range as an independent acquirer and developer of US oil and gas properties. The company concentrates on acquiring long-lived established properties and has major development areas in the Appalachian (37% of reserves), Permian (West Texas), mid-continent (western Oklahoma, Texas Panhandle), and Gulf Coast regions. Natural gas accounts for about 80% of Range Resources' proved reserves of about 800 billion cu. ft. of natural gas and equivalent. Range Resources has grown rapidly through about 70 acquisitions in the 1990s.

For the nine months ended 9/30/99, total revenues rose 55% to $161.2 million.

Stock Fans, this stock was brought to my attention by another investor. I have been researching the alternative fuel sector and will keep my eye on the sector to heat up. In the meantime, here is a company that is way oversold, competes with the likes of Arco, BP Amoco and Exxon Mobil and sells for under $3.00. I don't know about you, but I am looking for ways to play the increase at the gas pump. Consider this as your discount!

KEY INDICATORS: RRC
Buy Area:$2.50 to $2.94
Sell Stop:$2.35
TARGET: $3.025 to $3.1625
Time Frame: 2 to 7 days
Type of Trade: If held longer target of $8.00-$9.50 over the next 2-3 weeks
